We have a rich and interesting past.
St Edmund’s School, Canterbury has a rich history dating back to 1852, when architect Philip Charles Hardwick designed the original building. Thanks to the support of Doctor Samuel Warneford and Mr Joshua Watson, the foundation stone was laid in 1854 and pupils moved in the following year.
The beautiful chapel, completed in 1858, remains a highlight of the site. In 1897, the school was renamed in honour of St Edmund of Abingdon, Archbishop of Canterbury.
Today, with its historic architecture and unique character, St Edmund’s offers a memorable setting for filming and photography.
