Versatile Working Theatre for Events
The theatre is a striking and flexible space, perfect for performances, conferences, or lectures. It features a traditional proscenium stage, tiered seating for up to 338 guests, with an additional 50 in the well, plus a foyer, quick-change room, and spacious backstage area.
For conferences and lectures, the theatre is fully equipped with IT facilities and Wi-Fi, making it easy to deliver presentations or host interactive sessions. Nearby breakout rooms provide flexible spaces for smaller meetings or workshops, and hospitality can be arranged in the foyer or the Dining Hall, from coffee breaks to full catering. The venue also offers ample free parking and full disabled access, ensuring a comfortable and convenient experience for all guests.

A Stage for Every Story
The theatre has hosted a wide variety of performances, from St Edmund’s own productions like Animal Farm and Beauty and the Beast, to this year’s St Stephen’s Primary School production of Shrek. It is also the proud home of the annual St Edmund’s Festival, where we’ve welcomed the likes of Ronnie Scotts All Stars, Mark De Lisser, and the Bootleg Beatles, alongside a mix of school and community performances throughout the year.
